Mapping It Out
Took a little time away from my drawings these past couple days to create this sample Illustration for a map company. Wasn't sure I'd be into it at first, but as I got going, I became really dedicated to making it look as good as possible. Cross your fingers - hopefully I'll actually get paid to create more of them!

Getting the Lead Out
I'm currently in the process of creating some new drawings for a group show opening later this month at Ronin Gallery in Los Angeles. I usually only draw in my sketch book, so to create an image out of pencil that is meant to be displayed on the wall is new for me. But so far, I'm finding the change refreshing! I'll unveil the finished images as the date of the show draws closer.

On Newstands Now
I just received a copy of the August issue of The Progressive, a magazine I recently created an Editorial Illustration for. It was probably one of my better experiences dealing with work for print. The Art Director gave me complete conceptual freedom, and the article was actually interesting and relevant, so I had good material to work with. There's not too much more you can ask for out of a job like this, other than a decent paycheck!

Surf's Up!
Been working the past couple days on this test Illustration for an instructional book on Surfing. With any luck they'll move forward with me as their Illustrator, which will mean I'll get to draw hot, shirtless guys all day and actually get paid for it! Opportunities like these remind me why I love being a freelance artist!
