I Am the Boy You'll Forever Chase
One of my favorite lyrics from one of my favorite musicians is an obscure song by Billy Corgan, entitled "The Girl with the Cruel Face". In it, he sings (from her point of view), "I am the girl you'll forever chase." I loved the sentiment behind it. The idea of an ideal or archetypal person we would continually seek to have in our lives. I decided to put my twist on it, by depicting characters who have played the role of the male paragon in the minds of many women, causing them to seek out the qualities these characters embody, in non-fictional counterparts.
These drawings will be on display for one night only as part of the "Get the Lead Out" group show being held on August 28th at Swoon Gallery (4210 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90029). Hope to see some of you there!

Getting the Lead Out
I'm currently in the process of creating some new drawings for a group show opening later this month at Ronin Gallery in Los Angeles. I usually only draw in my sketch book, so to create an image out of pencil that is meant to be displayed on the wall is new for me. But so far, I'm finding the change refreshing! I'll unveil the finished images as the date of the show draws closer.
